WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said it arrested a man on Tuesday for a double shooting that left a teenage boy hurt in Southeast D.C. on Friday. Shortly after 11 a.m. on Nov. 8, MPD responded to the 600 block of Mellon Street SE for the report of a shooting. There, they found a boy suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Man killed in shooting, 4 others hurt in separate incidents in Southeast DC A short time later, a man showed up at a hospital with gunshot wounds sustained in the same shooting. Detectives later determined the shooting happened in the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE. MPD said officers arrested 20-year-old Bernard Matthews of Southeast D.C. He was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device and Receiving Stolen Property.
