PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A school teacher has been arrested after allegedly pushing a student in Porterville, the Porterville Police Department said.
Officers say they began investigating an incident involving a school teacher, identified as 53-year-old Paige Boyd of Tulare, that occurred on Oct. 24 after receiving a report from the office of Child Welfare Services, alleging abuse.
Police say the referral indicated that Boyd allegedly pushed a student to the ground. Detectives assumed the investigation, gathered additional evidence, and an arrest warrant was authored for Boyd.
On Nov. 7, detectives responded to Boyd's home and said she was arrested without incident under suspicion of child abuse/endangerment. She was transported and booked at the Tulare County Sheriff's Office South County Detention Facility and has since bailed out on a $25,000 bond.
This case is still under investigation by the Porterville Police Department's Investigation Division.
