What was once a niche cuisine is now a popular culinary trend. Plant-based foods are increasingly becoming the go-to as more consumers vie for a healthier self and planet. To meet this ever-growing demand, vegan chefs are refreshing the industry with healthy, tasty dishes free from animal products that often earn accolades on lists of the best restaurants. November 1 marked World Vegan Day, and to commemorate this, Yelp compiled a list of the top 100 vegan restaurants in the U.S. Ranging from soul food to Italian, from Asian to Mediterranean, this list features creativity and culinary talent throughout a wide range of vegan dining. One New Mexico restaurant left a mark on Yelp reviewers. Vegos, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, made the 66th spot on the list. Vegos is a scratch-made kitchen that believes in transforming whole ingredients into delicious and familiar flavors that are entirely animal-free. The Po' Boy was super delicious and had a great sauce that accompanied the soy curls. The Sandia burrito was also super yummy with the tofu and guac. Felt very full at the end," noted Yelp reviewer Julia H. To compile their list, Yelp identified restaurants in the U.S. in the "vegan" category (with 5 or fewer locations) and ranked the spots using a variety of factors, including the types of ratings and the total volume of reviews.
