EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Yu Shang Food Inc. is recalling more than 4,500 pounds of ready-to-eat poultry and meat products because they may be contaminated with listeria. The Rhode Island Department of Health advised people of the recall on Tuesday. The affected products were produced between Oct. 21 and Oct. 27, 2024, and have "use by" dates of Aug. 21 and Aug. 27, 2025. They also have establishment numbers P-46684 or EST. M46684 inside the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) mark of inspection. RELATED: Aldi, Market Basket cheeses recalled due to listeria risk The products were shipped to retail locations nationwide and were sold online too. Anyone who has the affected products should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. The USDA is urging restaurants and other establishments not to serve the recalled products. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), listeria is a bacteria that is the third leading cause of death from foodborne illness in the United States.
