MOUNT OLIVET, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Torilena Fields, the Robertson County woman charged with multiple offenses related to the alleged murder and dismemberment of her mother, entered a not guilty plea during a Zoom court appearance from the Bourbon County Detention Center. Fields faces several charges, including murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, obstructing government operations, and first-offense animal torture.
Fields waived her formal arraignment, and the court granted a motion to access her financial records. She is scheduled to appear in court again on March 10 at 9 a.m.
Last month, Kentucky State Police arrested Fields after her mother’s dismembered remains were discovered outside their home on Brierly Ridge Road in Mount Olivet. The investigation has drawn significant attention due to the alleged details surrounding the case, including the dismemberment and reported torture of an animal.
This latest court appearance marks the next stage in a case that continues to unfold with a potential trial date to be set in the coming months.
