Arrest made in deadly moped crash; victim identified

UDATE 2: Lexington police say they’ve made an arrest in the deadly hit-and-run accident.
21-year-old Logan Rogers is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident/Failure to Render Aid or Assist leading to Death or serious Physical Injury.
Rogers is be held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
UPDATE: The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim at 47-year-old James David Stamper of Paris. The coroner says Stamper died of blunt trauma injuries, which he sustained in the accident.
Lexington police continue to investigate.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — One person is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Lexington late Monday night.
The Lexington Police Department says they responded shortly after 11 p.m. to a crash on Richmond Road near Squires Road involving a moped and another vehicle.
Officials say the driver of the moped died from their injuries.
Police are still searching for the driver involved as the investigation into the fatal crash continues.
