Arrest Made After Man Killed, Woman Injured In Rock Hill Double Shooting

ROCK HILL, SC — A man is behind bars and charged in connection to a shooting that killed one person and injured another.
The shooting happened on Amelia Avenue on November 6th. Police say when they arrived at the scene, a woman was found with gunshot wounds to her head and hand. The woman told police a man was in a vehicle and he had also been shot. Police identified the man as 31-year-old Lawrence Howard. Howard was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On Monday, 35-year-old Melvin Robinson, was taken into custody and charged for possession of a firearm by a person convicted crimes during an investigation. Detectives later issued warrants for murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Police say they believe the shooting was the result of a drug deal.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police say a man was killed and a woman was injured in a double shooting in Rock Hill.
Officers say they responded to Amelia Avenue in reference to a shooting at 12:46pm on Wednesday, November 6th. When officers arrived on the scene, they located a woman sitting in a driveway with gunshot wounds to her hand and head, according to a news release.
The victim told officers there was a man in a vehicle on the street who was also shot, according to police.
Officers say they checked the vehicle and found a man, 31-year-old Lawrence Howard, dead from injuries he sustained in the shooting. The woman was taken to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators said the shooting was a result of an illegal narcotics sale. Police said they believe the suspect approached the vehicle in the driveway and shot both victims.
