High school football: Tony Fisher Award watch list for Nov. 12

The Tony Fisher Award is presented to The News-Herald high school football player of the year. It is named after the former Ohio Mr. Football recipient from Euclid who went on to play at Notre Dame and in the NFL. Fisher is now the athletic director at Euclid.
Next week, the list will be cut down to the semifinalists. The following week, five finalists will be named. The award will be presented on Monday, Nov. 25, during a special edition of the Varsity Chalk Talk Show at Hooley Pub & Grille.
Here is this week’s list, in alphabetical order:
Danny Alfieri, Sr., Kirtland: He carried 13 times for 186 yards and two touchdowns in the Hornets’ 39-0 win over Smithville. For the season, he has run for 1,122 yards and 27 touchdowns with a pair of two-point conversions.
Sean Dillard, Sr., Gilmour: He caught two passes for 34 yards in the Lancers’ 40-6 win over Maple Heights. For the season, he has caught 56 passes for 953 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Jackson Farley, Jr., Mentor: He carries 24 times for 153 yards and a touchdown and also caught three passes for six yards and a score in the Cardinals’ 33-0 win over Strongsville. For the season, he has run for 1,610 yards and 22 touchdowns along with 18 catches for 205 yards.
Scotty Fox, Sr., Mentor: He completed 13 of 16 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 20 yards in the Cardinals’ 33-0 win over Strongsville. For the season, he has thrown for 2,471 yards and 32 touchdowns with seven interceptions, along with 242 yards and four scores on the ground.
Justen Hodge, Jr., Mentor: He caught three passes for 75 yards in the Cardinals’ 33-0 win over Strongsville. For the season, he has caught 48 passes for 879 yards and nine touchdowns.
Chris Maloney, Sr., Benedictine: He carried 20 times for 228 yards and three touchdowns in the Bengals’ 28-6 win over Defiance. For the season, he has run for 1,692 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Kyndall McCaleb, Jr., Riverside: He ended the season rushing for 1,670 yards and 19 touchdowns, with six catches for 56 yards.
Walter Moses, Sr., Perry: He completed 17 of 22 passes for 177 yards in the Pirates’ 3-0 win over Struthers. For the season, he has thrown for 1,985 yards and 24 touchdowns and six interceptions, along with 165 yards and three scores on the ground.
Cooper Panteck, Jr. Gilmour: He threw for 150 yards and a touchdown in the Lancers’ 40-6 win over Maple Heights. For the season, he has thrown for 2,811 yards and 36 touchdowns with two interceptions.
Ace Peterlin, Sr., Lake Catholic: He was injured and did not play in the Cougars’ 35-3 win over Mogadore Field. For the season, he has caught 57 passes for 816 yards and 11 touchdowns, along with four interceptions on defense.
Frankie Trinetti, Sr., Lake Catholic: He completed 14 of 23 passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns in the Cougars’ 35-3 win over Mogadore Field. For the season, he has thrown for 2,698 yards and 28 touchdowns with three interceptions.
