Arrests made after body wrapped in sheets found inside condo, Garland Police say

Garland Police have arrested two people in connection to the death of a man found wrapped in a sheet inside a condominium on Monday morning.
Police responded to a report of a dead body inside the residence at the 4500 block of Chaha Road at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Monday, according to a report.
A Garland PD officer told NBC 5 that there was a body wrapped in bedding sheets inside the condo. The body was taken to the Dallas County Medical Examiner.
The deceased was identified as 53-year-old Johnny Mac Ross Jr. Preliminary investigation indicates the victim sustained fatal injuries from a knife wound, according to an update from police.
Police say they observed evidence indicating foul play within the residence. Investigators also discovered one of the victim’s vehicles had been stolen from the residence.
On Tuesday Garland Police located the stolen vehicle traveling on Miller Road near LBJ Freeway. When police attempted to pull over the vehicle, Haley Barber and Leo Moore both 20 years old, fled and led them in a brief vehicle pursuit. The two individuals eventually fled on foot and were apprehended.
Detectives gathered evidence identifying Barber and Moore as the individuals responsible for Ross’s death.
Both of them are currently in custody at the Garland Detention Center on charges of Capital Murder, with no bond set.
