Warmerthannormal weather for some mostly dry
Nov 12, 2024
NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Seasonably cold air is this big story this morning, but as a disturbance moves east from the north of the region, winds will pick up with another mild day with more snow-melt as precipitation will mostly remain in The Rockies.
Along with only some high-altitude thin decks of clouds in The Four Corners, but especially to the southeast, with dry air and light winds for now, radiational cooling has taken place this morning, as temperatures are ranging from near the high single digits to the 40s across New Mexico, slightly warmer compared to yesterday morning for most.

Despite rain with wet snow showers possible from The San Juan Mountain region to The Sangre de Cristo Mountain region, very clear skies will ensue for most of the day and as temperatures will rise, southwesterly winds will pick up a bit more, drying out the atmosphere even more for most will the elevated fire weather risk.
From the morning school commute on into the afternoon, temperatures will eventually reach into the high 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and low-to-mid 70s, close to normal for this time of the year for most, allowing for even more snowmelt in the mountains, especially in the surrounding lower-elevation communities. It'll be slightly cooler in far-northern areas in lieu of this weak system, but mostly warmer elsewhere.
On the backside of this fast-moving storm system, despite a brief cooldown for most tomorrow, temperatures will mostly be on the climb until a bigger change ensues later this weekend.
