CHARLESTON, S.C. (WPRI) — Rhode Island FC are looking to keep their inaugural season alive as they prepare to play in the USL Eastern Conference Finals this weekend. After beating No. 1 overall seed Louisville City FC, the club is headed to South Carolina to take on the Charleston Battery at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The team has extended its unbeaten streak to eight games, matching the club record. Rhode Island FC beats Louisville City FC 3-0, advances to conference final Rhode Island played to draws in both matches against Charleston this season. Rhode Island is the first expansion team to advance to a conference final in its inaugural season since El Paso Locomotive FC did in 2019. The match will be livestreamed nationally on ESPN+ and air locally on The Wolf (106.3 FM). Fans can attend the official watch party at The Guild in Pawtucket.
