MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend at Shelby Farms last month was back in court Tuesday morning. It was believed that 27-year-old Jackson Hopper wanted Judge George Gilbert to let him out on bond. However, Hopper temporarily waived his bond hearing during his court appearance. “Just to be clear, he just temporarily waived his bond hearing. I have spoken with Mr. Ballin, if they decide they want a bail hearing they will let me know,” the prosecutor said. Jackson is being charged with First Degree Murder after allegedly shooting his ex-girlfriend Ellie Young in the parking lot of Shelby Farms after a breast cancer awareness event.  “I don’t see this as a capital case," the prosecutor said. "At this point, there is some more information I would need before we know for sure if any of the aggravated factors apply. None of them jump out right now as applying.” Man arrested in connection to deadly Shelby Farms shooting Along with first-degree murder, Jackson is facing several other charges in Tipton, Lauderdale, and Dryers counties – all related to a law enforcement chase he allegedly led authorities on.  Each county requires a different bond. His bond is $150,000 in Tipton County, and as of now, in Shelby County, he will continue to be held without bond.  Hopper's next court date is set for November 26.
