The Colorado Springs Police Department said two accidents Tuesday morning shut down the westbound lanes of Highway 24 at the MLK Jr. Bypass.As of 9:15 a.m., the road has reopened, according to police the call first came in around 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. At the time police reported that both accidents were blocking lanes of traffic, and a social media post shared with News5 shows police diverting traffic onto South Union Boulevard. Colorado Springs police had asked people to seek alternate routes at the time of the accident. A CSPD spokesperson confirmed with our newsroom the roadway reopened around 9:00 a.m. The accident is now considered one three-vehicle accident.
