Victim In Deadly South Charlotte Crash Identified

CHARLOTTE, NC – The man killed in a weekend accident in south Charlotte has been identified as 20-year-old Celeo Avalid Chirino.
The accident happened around 1am on Sunday, November 10th, in the 6600 block of South Boulevard.
When emergency officials arrived, they found a Toyota Scion on fire in the road. They found two injured juveniles outside of the car. MEDIC took the victims to the hospital. Chirino, the driver of the car, died at the scene.
Police say the car crossed the lane on South Boulevard, hit a median and then caught on fire.
Police believe excessive speed and alcohol were factors that contributed to the crash.

CHARLOTTE, NC – One person was killed and two others were transported to the hospital following a crash in south Charlotte overnight.
It happened around 1 a.m. near the intersection of South Boulevard and Edgewater Drive.
No details about the crash were immediately available. However, Medic said that one person died at the scene and two others were transported to Atrium CMC with serious injuries.
