Red Flag Warning Tuesday
Nov 12, 2024
A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Southern New England from 9am to 6pm today. We have an abundance of dry ground cover and with low relative humidity and a very gusty wind this afternoon, brush fires will be easy to start, quick to spread and difficult to contain. Outdoor burning is strongly advised against and you are urged to use care and consideration when disposing of smoking materials.
Weather today will be sun-filled and cooler with temperatures topping out in the lower-50s. A cold front will come through dry today that will kick up a gusty wind from the northwest with gusts up to 35-35 mph. The colder air will move in fast tonight and temperatures will tumble into the 20s overnight. This colder air will be here through the end of the workweek. High temperatures are expected colder than average in the 40s as well as lows in the 20s. A warm front Friday will give us the slightest chance of a shower and help bring in milder and more seasonalbe ir for the weekend.
