Toddler hit, killed by vehicle identified

VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A one-year-old was hit and killed last week by a vehicle in Valley Center, local medical officials said.
Adriel Estevan Garcia was identified as the victim, the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office said on its website.
The incident occurred on Monday, Nov. 4 around 8:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Morningstar Road on the Rincon Reservation, according to CHP.

Authorities say the one-year-old's mother was attending to her other child when the toddler exited the home on his own. A family member then asked about the toddler's whereabouts and were initially unable to find him until they located him lying in the street.
Garcia was hit by a vehicle and taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, however, left the scene after hitting the toddler.
There is no description of a suspect vehicle at this time.
