2car collision in French Valley leaves 1 dead

A collision involving a BMW speeding and running a stop sign in French Valley left one dead on Sunday, Nov. 10.
Around 8:15 p.m. Sunday, a gray BMW 650I traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed on Benton Road, west of Van Gaale Lane, approached the intersection and failed to stop at the stop sign, resulting in the front of the car colliding with the side of a white Toyota Camry, according to a California Highway Patrol press release.
The Camry had stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Benton Road and Van Gaale Lane before continuing to travel northbound on Van Gaale.
The collision resulted in the death of the 53-year-old Murrieta woman driving the Toyota Camry. The victim has been identified as Tracye White, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
The 27-year-old Spring Valley woman behind the wheel of the BMW 650I was found to be under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and Gross Vehicular Manslaughter, according to CHP Public Information Officer Mike Lassig.
