LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- The Lafayette Police Department is still searching for suspects in three shootings that occurred over the weekend which resulted in three deaths and four others injured. Pastor holds vigil for families of victims who died in Lafayette shooting FRIDAY The first shooting was reported around 10 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of CO Circle. Lafayette police said when they arrived at the scene, 65-year-old Rickey Christian, of Lafayette, was found with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. The second shooting was reported around 11:40 p.m. in the 800 block of E. Vermilion Street. Police said one victim was found at the scene while a second victim was located at a hospital. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are in stable condition, police said. SATURDAY The third shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. Saturday near the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's campus and KOK Wings and Things. Lafayette police Det. Ken Handy said investigators were able to piece together that one of the victims was a potential target by the suspects. KOK Wings & Things announces fundraiser to support Saturday shooting victims "The one that died on scene was a potential target by the suspects, which is why they were killed on scene," Handy said. That shooting claimed the lives of 26-year-old Corey Mouton of Carencro and 24-year-old Jamir Carmouche of Lafayette. The two surviving victims are in stable condition and continue to recover from their injuries. "Once we are able to locate those suspects and get their information on what led to the events, we'll be able to provide some type of motive," Handy said about the multiple investigations.
