Southern University women's soccer team heads to NCAA tournament, faces Mississippi State Bulldogs

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Southern University women's soccer team is headed to the NCAA 2024 Women's College Cup in Cary, North Carolina.
The Jaguars are expected to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs soccer team at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16.
No. 3 Southern University defeats Texas Southern University to claim their first Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship. The Lady Jaguars scored in the 16th minute of the matchup. According to Southern Athletics, Senior Forward Taylor Henry scored the goal on an assist from Midfielder Alyssa Romero.
The Jags ended the regular season with a record of 8-9-3.
Southern University is one of the two HBCUs participating in the NCAA Women's College Cup. The other is Howard University.
