RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The iconic R&B group The Temptations -- celebrating over 60 years since their hit single "My Girl" came on the scene, are coming to Richmond and they're bringing the legendary group The Four Tops with them. At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, The Temptations and The Four Tops will hit the Altria Theater stage in Richmond. Tickets will go on sale beginning Friday, Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased online. The Temptations, who recently celebrated their 60th Anniversary, have been ranked #1 on Billboard Magazine's latest list of "Greatest R&B/ Hip-Hop Artists of All Time." The group is known as one of Motown Records' greatest, featuring hits such as "My Girl," "Just My Imagination," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" and many more. The iconic group, throughout its tenure has obtained 16 #1 R&B chart albums, 44 Top 10 R&B chart hits, which includes, 14 #1 R&B singles and four #1 Hot 100 singles. The Four Tops, one of Motown Records' most commercially successful groups, began making waves in the music industry since the 1960s. With hits like "Can't Help My Self (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)," "Baby I Need Your Loving," "Reach Out I'll Be There," "Ain't No Woman" and plenty others. The legendary group had two hits that charted #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 and were the first group from Motown Records to top album charts in the UK. Both, The Temptations and The Four Tops have evolved significantly overtime -- receiving many accolades and awards, while contributing to African American history and culture.
