SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Let It Fly's Sioux Falls location has announced its closure. Various businesses around 57th and Western spoke on the impact the restaurant had as well as the future of Let It Fly and the area itself. Let It Fly announced on social media that Monday, November 11, would be the Sioux Falls location's final day. The location at 57th Street and Western Avenue originally was Bracco's World Café which closed on December 31, 2017, and then became Turks & Caicos Cabana Grille which then closed in spring 2021, selling the space to former NBA player and South Dakota native Mike Miller's sports bar venture, Let It Fly and then later would turn into Let It Fly. Discounts, free meals at restaurants for Veterans Day Assistant Manager for Let It Fly, Liz O'Connell, said the Sioux Falls location is the only one that's closing. "We do still have our Brandon and Tea locations and those locations will remain, it is just the main restaurant that will be closing," said O'Connell. "To my understanding, it's so they can expand further in Omaha as well, Omaha currently has 2 locations and is looking at adding 2 more." "I've been here about 2 years now and in the last year alone we have seen increased profitability and have continued to grow in sales," O'Connell said. "It's not that we weren't being successful I would say." Broker Associate for LLOYD Company, Scott Blount, said the building is not currently under contract and hasn't been sold as of yet. "It's in a great location, the visibility is tremendous. The corner of 57th and Western is a heavily trafficked area and it's the anchor for the Bridges at 57 development," Blount said. "It needs to have the right operator to run it but it's a great property." "I personally showed the property last week to a group that has a strong interest out of Minneapolis and they are gonna be back later this week," Blount said. "I have another showing there today for another interested group. There is strong interest because it's a viable property." Vice President of Commercial Real Estate for LLOYD Company, Raquel Blount, said they have already seen some interest in the property and they are excited for what the future holds for the property. The manager at You've Been Framed, Danielle, said restaurants do have an impact on the businesses out there. "The Bridges is a great location, it's not too far from any side of town, we've loved it out here we've been here since 2009," Danielle said. "There was definitely a pull from the restaurants, whether that's Let It Fly or the previous restaurants. It does bring people to the shopping center." Danielle said that the neighborhood of businesses work together very well. "We have a lot of great business neighbors, we just need people to focus in on supporting local this Holiday season coming up," Danielle said. Manager at The CBD Center, Max Hunter, said they have had a lot of impact on the area, but it can be too busy of an area sometimes for people who are shopping.
