NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Warm and muggy conditions will continue until a cold front moves through Wednesday night into Thursday morning. That front will also bring our next decent chance of rain across the area. Expect more clouds Tuesday with temperatures staying in the mid to upper 70s through the day. A few showers may also pop up, especially be later in the afternoon. As the remnant area of Rafael moves west a cold front will be moving into the area Wednesday. This moisture will increase ahead of the front and as temperatures climb into the 80s we will likely see storms develop. There is a low end chance of a severe storm as the circulation with the remnants of Rafael increases the wind shear in the area. This could lead to an isolated tornado or strong wind gust. Right now it looks like drier air moves in by later Thursday and Friday which brings temperatures closer to where they should be for this time of year and gives us a nicer feel to the air.
