Local businesses honor veterans with free services and special offers across northeast Wisconsin

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Tributes in honor of Veterans Day took place across northeast Wisconsin on Monday.
Local businesses shared their appreciation for area veterans and active service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Packers, Red Cross surpass 15,000 blood donations through community drives
"They can get a free donut," said Alexis Ellis, a Dunkin’ Donuts staff member. "They come in all excited because they know they're going to get their free donut, so it's just nice to make people happy and give back in some way."
For the 11th year, NewStyle Salons in the Green Bay and Appleton areas offered free haircuts to veterans. The service also included free styling and a free shampoo.

"They leave with smiles on their faces, and we just thank them for their service," said Cora Wheelock, a stylist at the Green Bay location.
With the help of vendor partners, veterans visiting any Festival Foods location could choose from a wide selection of products and take 12 items free of charge with a $20 minimum purchase.

What’s open and closed on Veterans Day?
Brian O'Donnell, shift manager at the Festival Foods on 2430 University Ave. in Green Bay, told Local 5's Samantha Petters there's nothing more humbling than giving back to veterans who have given everything for us.
"I'm very appreciative," said O'Donnell. "With my father being a Marine for 30 years, it hits me in a different way."
