Wrightstown firefighters respond to apartment fire caused by cooking device

WRIGHTSTOWN, Wis. (WFRV) – Firefighters in Wrightstown responded to a fire at an apartment complex Monday afternoon after a cooking device was melted and caused smoke buildup.
According to a release, the Wrightstown Fire Department arrived at the 800 block of County Road U shortly before 1:45 p.m., where fire alarms were sounding, and smoke was present in the hallway.

Crews located a Ninja cooking device on a stove burner that had accidentally been left on, causing it to melt and fill the apartment with smoke.

Firefighters spent about an hour ventilating the apartment to remove remaining smoke, ensuring the space was safe for residents to return.
No injuries were reported, and a pet found in the apartment was unharmed.
