WONEWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – An 82-year-old woman has died from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a marked crosswalk Friday morning in Wonewoc.
According to the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Nov. 8, shortly before 10:15 a.m. Deputies, along with the Wonewoc Fire Department, responded and found Verona D. Bliss of Wonewoc, who was transported to a nearby hospital.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Bliss was crossing Washington Street in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle turning from Center Street. The driver, identified as 43-year-old Christopher L. Larsen of Wonewoc, stopped and called for emergency assistance.
The sheriff's office was notified on Nov. 10 by the Juneau County Medical Examiner’s Office that Bliss had died from her injuries.
