CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Chick-fil-A restaurants in Charlotte are partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina for a two-week-long fundraiser.
For every Chick-fil-A Nuggets tray purchased from Monday, November 11 to Saturday, November 23, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to support the food bank’s essential work in the community.
“Hunger is an issue that’s close to our hearts, and it means so much to us to support Second Harvest in their work to feed people in our community,” said Dean Sandbo, local owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Indian Trail and Chick-fil-A Wesley Chapel Weddington. “We hope our Guests will come out to participate in this fundraiser and join us in supporting Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.”
Since 1981, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHMETROLINA) has served a total of 24 counties across North and South Carolina through education, advocacy, and partnerships to eliminate hunger by the solicitation and distribution of food.
SHMETROLINA annually distributes 88 million pounds of food and other household items throughout its service region. Chick-fil-A has partnered with SHMETROLINA for over 15 years, and last year Chick-fil-A restaurants in Charlotte donated over $300,000 to the food bank.
This year, the Food Bank has played an integral part in the relief efforts after Hurricane Helene, which are still taking place – since last week, the Food Bank has distributed approximately 42 tractor trailer loads of food and supplies totaling almost 1.5 million pounds, to help their friends at the Manna Food Bank in Asheville, as well as counties that SHMETROLINA serves daily in Rutherford County (Lake Lure and Chimney Rock) and other areas in western NC.
“We’re excited to partner with Chick-fil-A for this fundraising event,” said Kay Carter, CEO of SHMETROLINA. “The community’s support of our work against hunger is so inspiring, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment.”
