Man arrested after 'largest fentanyl seizure in Tangipahoa Parish history'

HAMMOND, La. (WGNO) — A Hammond man was arrested in connection with a drug bust on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
Three ‘Most Wanted’ fugitives sought in Tangipahoa Parish
The Hammond Police Department reported that investigators with its narcotics unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration's Fentanyl Overdose Response Team searched a home on Blackburn Extension off North Morrison Boulevard as part of a joint investigation.
During the search, HPD investigators said they found 44.79 pounds of pills, with 27.85 pounds testing positive for fentanyl and 2.47 pounds testing positive for methamphetamine.

HPD officials said 14.2 pounds of the pills recovered were "pressed as Oxycodone pills, but are suspected to be Fentanyl."
Investigators said they also allegedly found 21 bottles of promethazine during the search.

After the search, HPD officers arrested 69-year-old Marvin Thorn.
According to police, this investigation "led to the largest Fentanyl seizure in Tangipahoa Parish history."
