RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC)-- Virginia Tech lost to No. 19 Clemson 24-14 at Lane Stadium. The Hokies led 7-0 at halftime after a strong defensive performance, including a blocked field goal and a 77-yard touchdown return by Quentin Reddish. Virginia Tech also recorded four sacks and an interception by Jaylin Jones in the first half.
In the second half, Clemson scored three touchdowns—two in the third quarter and one in the fourth—to take a 21-7 lead. Virginia Tech responded with a 14-yard touchdown pass from Colin Schlee to Ayden Greene, making it 21-14.
Da’Quan Felton led the Hokies in receiving with 68 yards, and Schlee was the team’s leading rusher with 28 yards. Despite a strong start, the Hokies couldn’t regain the lead, and Clemson secured the win.
Virginia Tech’s next game is at Duke on Nov. 23, followed by a home game against Virginia on Nov. 30.
