ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) has arrested a suspect in connection to a deadly crash in northeast Albuquerque earlier this week. On Wednesday, Albuquerque police responded to the intersection of San Mateo and Candelaria after a man on a motorcycle was hit and killed by a speeding vehicle. The victim was identified as Christopher Sanford. Witnesses told police they saw a vehicle speed through a red light before hitting Sanford. However, APD said the vehicle's computer system showed Torres was going 75 miles an hour less than two seconds before the impact. They also claimed Torres was pulled over by state police less than a week before for going over 120 miles an hour in a 75 zone. Torres was booked into MDC on Friday night and is facing homicide by vehicle and reckless driving charges.
