(KRON) – The Fairfield Police Department has seized more than 8,000 illegal marijuana plants at eight properties that police said are linked to Chinese nationals, the department announced on its social media.    The Fairfield Police Department Code Enforcement, the California Department of Cannabis Control, the FPD Special Operations Team and patrol officers collaborated for an investigation that took up to four months.  The agencies seized more than 8,234 plants at eight properties. According to Fairfield PD, all of the properties were connected to “Chinese nationals.” Over $1 million in fines issued from illegal weed operation “While cannabis is widely accepted as a social norm across the country, indoor grows continue to pose a serious threat in our communities - e.g., electrical overload and fire hazards, chemical hazards, structural modifications, propane hazards, and entanglement risks - are often connected to other crimes,” said the Fairfield Police Department. Fairfield PD said the department served two warrants and issued more than $979,500 in citations near Gary Filati Park last week.  Around $4,117,000 in fines were issued in total, police said.
