• Mount Union rallied from a 21-14 fourth-quarter deficit and defeated visiting Marietta, 28-21, on Nov. 9 with a touchdown in the final seconds. Tyrell Sanders’ 27-yard touchdown from backup quarterback TJ Deshields — who was in for the injured Noah Beaudrie — with 32 seconds remaining in regulation was the game-winner. The victory gives the Purple Raiders (9-0, 8-0 OAC) at least a share of the OAC title and the NCAA Division III playoffs automatic bid. Mount plays at Muskingum Nov. 16 and will be a huge favorite in that game. Marietta led, 21-14, in the fourth quarter thanks to two TD passes by QB Connor Vierstra (26 of 38, 266 yards) and another TD run by Viestra. A 51-yard TD run by Tyler Echeverry tied the game at 21 with 5 minutes to play in the game. • Grove City built a 16-0 lead and never looked back in a 30-13 win over visiting Case Western Reserve. It was the third straight loss for the Spartans after a 6-0 start this season. Case finishes its regular season Nov. 16 at home against rival Carnegie Mellon. Receivers Dylan Cave (eight receptions, 160 yards) and NDCL grad Noah Coyne (seven catches, 62 yards) each scored a TD for the Spartans. Grove City (8-1) led, 23-0, in the third quarter before reserve Aaron Filips threw two TD passes to pull within 23-13. • Visiting Ohio Dominican scored 17 points in the fourth quarter en route to a 38-21 over Lake Erie. Alec Lewis threw for 278 yard and two TDs to help the Storm (2-8) stay in the game at 21-21 after three quarters but ODU got a rushing TD and and a field goal then a pick-6 to put the game out of reach. Tae’Shaun Johnson had nine receptions for 127 yards and a TD for LEC.
