ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Our latest Primetime 585 Shining Star puts the spotlight on Owen Gutman, a sophomore at Penfield High School! Photo provided by Primetime 585, courtesy of J Davis Photography. Gutman led the Patriots to a sectional title Thursday night, as Penfield defeated Fairport 3-1 in the Class A title game. He led his team with 18 kills and was named tournament MVP. He also had 13 digs, 3 aces, and 3 blocks. The Patriots are undefeated this year and are off to the state tournament. This year he also was the MVP of the prestigious Eden Pan-Am tournament and is a 2024 member of the WEVA-USA volleyball All-Star Team. Additionally, Owen has quite the side-hobby - a secret talent not many know about: wake surfing. He is also a high honor roll student.
