Winter storm moves out of New Mexico into the weekend
Nov 08, 2024
Winter Storm Warnings, as well as Blizzard Warnings, are now less widespread across northeast New Mexico, as lingering snow, subsiding freezing fog, gusty winds, and cold air will continue to be the main threats for many areas through the overnight hours. Power outages and dangerous road conditions look to continue as well into Saturday morning.
The strongest storm system of the season so far, has brought several inches to feet of snow and the coldest air for many continues to move through the state overnight. A few more inches of snow are possible across the northeastern corner of New Mexico into the overnight hours.
Unsettled weather will eventually depart late today into early tomorrow as conditions will slowly dry out while warming up this Veterans Day Weekend with snow melt expected for the lower elevations.
Drier and warmer conditions will continue into next week with a weak disturbance moving north of New Mexico by Tuesday. This will allow for some light snowfall across the Northern Mountains and into Southern Colorado.
