Mount Hope Bridge inspections expected to cause delays

BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority said that the inspection of the Mount Hope Bridge will continue from Nov. 13 to Nov. 15.
The inspections will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and one lane of traffic will be closed with alternating traffic.
Executive Director Lori Caron Silveira said that the inspections are expected to cause delays and that the authority apologized to commuters who would be affected.
“The inspection is thorough, and it is essential to ensure the safety of the bridge,” she said. “We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this necessary work.”
