WEATHER ALERT: A Red Flag Warning continues through 6pm Saturday. The dry and gusty conditions continue. Please, no outdoor burning, as any fires could spread quickly. Please be careful when discarding smoking materials, too. Good evening: RED FLAG WARNING HAS BEEN EXTENDED THROUGH SATURDAY We've had elevated fire risks for the past couple of weeks, but a Red Flag Warning is issued when conditions are more significant. With gusty winds and dropping humidity levels next 24 hours, any fires could spread even more quickly. Please....no outdoor burning. Drought updates are sent every Thursday morning, and we now have a moderate drought for most of Rhode Island and about 1/3 of Bristol County, MA. Conditions are slowly worsening over the rest of Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts, too. We have not had any rain this month so far, and we are well below average for this autumn. Late night lows will be down into the low to mid 30s just before dawn Saturday SATURDAY FORECAST: Bright, Breezy Much Cooler Saturday looks breezy dry and much cooler. Highs will be in the lower 50s in the afternoon with sunny skies. Highs on Saturday afternoon only around 51 Winds will still be gusty from the west and northwest. SATURDAY AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES LOOKING AHEAD The daylight hours of Sunday still looks dry. Rain arrives Sunday Night after 9pm, however amounts look to be very light.
