EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The high school football regular season is officially over and playoffs are underway. In this week’s edition of the Friday Night Blitz, 12 Sports’ Sam Knox will bring you high school football scores, highlights and more from around Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts, including the Game of the Week: Lincoln vs. East Providence. Providence Journal sportswriter Eric Rueb also joins us to break down the night’s games and highlight the area’s top talent as we look ahead to the playoffs. This season, 12 Sports is recognizing players through a new segment called Player of the Week. Voting was open Monday through Wednesday, and fans selected Portsmouth High School kicker Cam Ruggieri as this week's winner. Be sure to check back for next week's nominees.
