Downtown Orlando curfew lifted just in time for EDC, but more changes are on the way
Nov 08, 2024
The emergency curfew put into place by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, after a shooting in downtown Orlando during the wee hours of Halloween night, expires late this week — purely coincidentally, no doubt, just in time for Electric Daisy Carnival. Following a deadly shooting that killed two and left several others injured in downtown Orlando early Friday, Nov. 1, the city has issued a local state of emergency and curfew for the area. The emergency order required businesses in the downtown entertainment district to end alcohol sales at midnight, with a curfew of 1 a.m. through 5 a.m. The curfew and restrictions expired on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m.
