APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Xavier High School theater students in Appleton are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella as part of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center's Center Stage Program.
The beloved musical features classic songs like "In My Own Little Corner," "Impossible," and "Ten Minutes Ago," following Cinderella’s transformation from a mistreated stepdaughter to a beloved guest at the royal ball with the help of her fairy godmother.

Director Claire Schmidt and cast members are excited to present the timeless story to the community. "Audiences can look forward to seeing a classic story, loved by all from young to old, retold by a cast of dedicated students at Xavier," Schmidt said.
Despite a year of transitions, including the addition of new leadership and a young, mostly inexperienced cast, the production team has rallied to create a successful show.
"One of our greatest challenges has been working with some big transitions within our theatre department this year," said Xavier staff. "We are working with a new director, Claire Schmidt, a new choreographer, and a new pit conductor. Our cast and crew are young, and many students are new to theatre. We've worked hard to build a strong team so they can support each other and put on the best show possible."
Being part of the Center Stage Program has been an important experience for the students, who feel it provides valuable recognition for their hard work.
"Center Stage gives our local theatre students a time to celebrate their own incredible work and showcase the passion, dedication, hard work, and community that grows from their involvement in school theatre programs," staff shared.
