Severe drought continues for almost all of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. In the latest update to the drought monitor taken on November 7th, not much has changed. This continues to be the worst drought locally since the summer of 2012.
Most of the area continues to be in a severe drought, according the the drought monitor.
Through November 8th, Fort Wayne has picked up 0.47 inches of rainfall. This is below average by 0.29 inches for the month. Note that the drought monitor data is collected on Tuesday, so not all of the month's rain has been calculated into our latest map. However, the rain that fell after the data cutoff on Tuesday was not much to make a notable difference.
As of November 8th, we've seen less than a half an inch of rain this November so far.
This drier than average start to November so far comes after the third driest October on record in Fort Wayne's history, when only 0.43 inches of rain fell the entire month.
