PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence restaurant has now been given the okay to reopen after a security guard pulled a knife on a guest during a fight on Sunday.
The Providence Board of Licenses said Afrique D’Lounge on Federal Hill can now reopen because they’ve hired a new company to handle security.
The city ordered Afrique d’Lounge to close for 72 hours until a show cause hearing was held on Thursday.
Qasim Flynn, a security guard at Afrique D Lounge, was charged with disorderly conduct after police responded to the restaurant around 1 a.m. for a reported stabbing.
When police arrived, they were told that Flynn was allegedly in an altercation with a patron that escalated into him pulling a knife.
The patron allegedly received a cut on the forehead due to the incident.
