FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Students in Fresno's Central Unified School District used their voices to raise money for the benefit of Central Valley veterans on Thursday night. The fundraising concert was held at the Central East High School at 3535 N. Cornelia Ave. in Fresno on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Students from seven schools within Central Unified, including middle and high school, joined efforts to raise money for the Central Valley Honor Flight. "Our song we did was called '50-Nifty United States', so we were able to share some history and what the 13 original colonies were and I just think they did a fantastic job," said Kathy Lee, a Central Unified Elementary choir director. Tickets were $20 per family (three or more) and $10 individually. The funds will benefit the Central Valley Honor Flight, which is a program that sends valley veterans to Washington D.C. to tour the memorials and monuments in their honor.
