(KRON) -- Incumbent Antioch Mayor Lamar Hernandez-Thorpe has conceded that his reelection bid has failed. Although not final, election results thus far show Hernandez-Thorpe significantly trailing retired Antioch city manager Ron Bernal.
Bernal is out ahead with over 63% of the votes to Hernandez-Thorpe's 30%. A third candidate, retired businessman Rakesh Kumar Christian, is further behind with 7% of the vote.
In a video posted to YouTube, Mayor Hernandez-Thorpe conceded that "I am not winning," adding that, "I probably will not win as they continue to count the votes."

The mayor went on to say that he would leave Antioch "a stronger place than it was four years ago."
The mayor also addressed the Antioch Police Department racist text scandal that had dogged his tenure in charge.
"It has been a four-year term that started relatively quiet like most mayors do and then we fell into the unfortunate situation with the police department," Hernandez-Thorpe said. "That situation did put people's public safety at risk."
"I am absolutely proud we rooted out officers who should not have been in Antioch to begin with," he added.
On Thursday, Bernal issued a statement declaring victory in the race in what he called a "decisive landslide."
"I am truly honored by the overwhelming support from the people of Antioch," Bernal said. "This victory belongs to our entire community, and I am committed to working to create a safer, more prosperous, and united Antioch for all of us."
Bernal ran on a platform promising to prioritize confronting crime, addressing homelessness, and growing the local economy.
