MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two suspects are dead and six people, including an officer, were injured when a stolen vehicle fleeing from police crashed Thursday at a Hickory Hill intersection. Police shut down all lanes at Knight Arnold Road and Hickory Hill Road. MPD says they spotted a stolen black Chrysler 300 while on a call in southeast Memphis at 5 p.m. When they tried to stop it, the suspects fled. The car struck multiple vehicles when it reached the intersection about five miles away, sending four people to hospitals in non-critical condition. One officer was also taken to a hospital in non-critical condition. The Chrysler then crashed into a pole. Two people inside were prounced dead at the scene while a third was taken to Regional One in critical condition, MPD said. A police cruiser was among the damaged cars. In a video from the scene obtained by WREG, a woman says a driver who was being pursued by police hit several cars at the intersection. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
