MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A woman accused of stabbing another woman in the neck and hitting her with a car was denied a bond decrease Thursday. Reeva Hampton, 36, is charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, and vandalism of property. She is being held on a $200,000 bond. According to police, Hampton went to a house on Piney Woods Avenue in Oakhaven early Sunday morning, attacked a woman at the residence, and threatened two others with a gun. Reeva Hampton(SCSO) One of the victims said she was at her boyfriend's home when Hampton began banging on the front door so hard she shattered the glass. The victim said she exited the house, and when she began walking to her car, Hampton started yelling at her and threatened her with a bottle. The victim said Hampton followed her car and slammed into her vehicle, causing her airbags to deploy. She said Hampton got out of her car and stabbed her in the hand and throat with a knife. The victim said she tried to run away, and that's when Hampton hit her with her car. Woman wanted in connection to body found in burned-out car Police said Hampton returned to the same house five hours later and pointed a black 9mm handgun at two other women. The victim who was stabbed and hit by the car was not seriously hurt, but in a Facebook post said she was traumatized by what happened. The woman shared pictures of her injuries and the damage to her vehicle. During Hampton's bond hearing, Shelby County Assistant District Attorney Jack Gould told a judge Hampton posed a significant threat to the community. Gould argued that Hampton's ties to the community were severed due to the brutal nature of the alleged crimes and that she remained a clear danger to the public. He suggested that the charges could be upgraded to first-degree murder at the grand jury level. Hampton remains in custody. She is scheduled to be back in court on November 25.
