Image: Greenville County Sheriff's Office (FB) Greenville, SC (WOLO) — The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office says Thursday they received several reports of a scam that’s making it’s way around the area. According to deputies, they took multiple calls from residents saying they were being contacted from someone pretending to be with the law enforcement agency. When they call officials say they tell the intended victim they have an active warrant for their arrest and demand money in order for you to take care of oit. Authorities say this scam can either come via phone and or in a text message. Deputies say in some cases the targets were sent an image of a fake warrant bearing the address of 4 McGee Street and claim that you will be arrested if you hang up. Deputies ask anyone who has or may received a message like this to hang up on the caller immediately , block the phone and contact the Sheriff’s Department.
