AUSTIN (KXAN) — Give the Georgetown Eagles their crown. Junior tailback Jett Walker scored four times on the ground to lead Georgetown to the District 8-5A1 championship in resounding fashion 31-7 over Cedar Park on Thursday at Gupton Stadium. Walker scored on runs of 30, 3, 46 and 43 yards all while punishing the Timberwolves defense with his 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame both inside and outside the tackles. He entered the game with 1,743 rushing yards to lead the district. Georgetown led 17-7 at halftime. It's the sixth consecutive win for the Eagles (9-1, 6-1) who wrapped up the district's top seed in the playoffs. The only blemish on their record was a district-opening loss to Leander 38-35. The loss drops Cedar Park to 5-2 in district play, a half-game ahead of Rouse and Lake Belton. If those teams win, there will be a three-way tie for second place and a tiebreaker will decide where the teams are seeded.
