Man dies less than a day after brutal Staten Island stabbing

A man stabbed repeatedly during an argument in Staten Island died of his wounds on Thursday, law enforcement sources told the Daily News.
The 35-year-old victim was quarreling with another man on Maple Ave. near Grove Ave. in Port Richmond when his rival stabbed him in the wrist, thigh and abdomen around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Medics rushed the victim to Richmond University Medical Center in critical condition. He lingered for less than a day before dying at 3:33 a.m. Thursday, sources said.
The stabber was last seen fleeing north on Maple Ave., wearing a white shirt and black pants, according to police.
Police released surveillance images of the suspect Wednesday, as the victim lay dying in the hospital.
