Former Rochester employee admits he stole money from nonprofit, ordered to pay $33.5K

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A former City of Rochester employee known for leading violence prevention organization, “Pathways to Peace” pleaded guilty to grand larceny Thursday.
According to prosecutors, Anthony Hall, 38, admitted he stole more than $1,000 from the Coalition of North East Associations, Inc. CONEA, which Hall was a volunteer for at the time, is a nonprofit organization in Rochester that works to address housing issues, violence prevention and economic growth.

The theft occurred between December 2018 and September 2019. According to investigators, Hall transferred money to his personal Cash App using a debit card from CONEA without permission.
Hall is expected to be sentenced to one and a half years to three years behind bars He was also ordered to pay $33,550 in restitution. He will be sentenced Jan. 21, 2025.
