ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Monroe County is investing over $460,000 in funding from the American Rescue Plan Act to support Compeer Rochester's Vets Driving Vets program. The initiative hires local veterans to help provide transportation services to other veterans in need of assistance. This funding will allow the program to expand and support veterans in accessing veterans affairs services as well as other Monroe County veteran service agency programs. With this funding compeer will also be able to purchase two dedicated program vehicles - and hire two full-time veteran drivers.
