FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno Chaffee Zoo is now home to a new litter of African lion cubs.
Zamaya the African lion gave birth to her first litter of cubs on Tuesday.

“We are elated to welcome this litter of cubs," said Fresno Chaffee Zoo General Curator, Nicole Presley. “Unfortunately, due to the colder weather, the cubs will not be out on habitat until the spring, but we cannot wait to invite the public to come and see the pride together and share in our joy.”
The Fresno Chaffee Zoo says Zamaya and the two cubs are doing well and will continue to be monitored by the Zoo’s Animal and Veterinary teams.
